Quinta de Santa Luzia do Carrascal an estate situated in the Eastern part of the Douro region in North Portugal, the Douro Superior. The Quinta dates back to 1820, and is now divided in a main building where the owners live, and 5 holiday homes around a beautiful garden and a communal swimming pool with separate paddling pool. Three holiday homes are linked together and to the Adega, Casa do Curral, Casa do Alambique and Casa do Caseiro, and can be rented together for 12 persons. The other 2 holiday homes are detached. There is a chapel on the estate where marriages regularly take place, an idyllic location to tie the knot! The Quinta is 26 acres, with 10 acres vineyards and 2 acres olive gardens. The current owner has renovated the buildings from 2003 and 2004 with beauty and style. One of the holiday homes is in the previous stable, another in the previous home of the 'caseiro' (caretaker), and another in a space were the 'aguardente' was distilled in the past The Adega is renovated in style, but also modernised, which means that quality wines and port are again produced here.

You are in Trás-os-Montes, near places such as Vila Flor (15 min.) where you can do your daily shopping or Torre de Moncorvo (10 min.). Within 20 min. you are in Pocinho where you can take the train for a breathtaking ride along the Douro. Nearby you will also find the mouth of the Sabor, the Serra de Reboredo and the natural park of the Douro Internacional on both sides of the Spanish border. The Quinta is also a perfect base for the castle routes or a visit to the Park of the Vale de Côa with its prehistoric rock paintings.
The airports of Porto and Valladolid (Spain) are both 3 hours drive away. Wine lovers can ideally combine their stay with a stay in the top wine region Ribera del Duero near Valladolid. Toro and Rueda are situated in between, and are famous for respectively red and white wines.

You will stay in 3 separate but connected holiday homes, on an estate in the Eastern part of the Douro region in North Portugal, the Douro Superior. You can eat together in 1 of the apartments or in the adega which has enough room for 12 people, or outside in the Portuguese sunlight. The 3 connected holiday homes, Casa do Curral, Casa do Alambique and Casa do Caseiro, can also be rented separately for 4 persons each. The other 2 holiday homes are detached. There is a chapel on the estate where marriages regularly take place, an idyllic location to tie the knot! The Quinta is 26 acres, with 10 acres vineyards and 2 acres olive gardens.
