A larger public bathing area is located at Mamma's Bay. There is a handicapped-accessible lake bath with jetty and barbecue area. Hjälmsjön is widely known by canoeists and rowers for its mirror-shiny water. In the adjacent lakes there are perch, pike and roach. The fishing license is valid for most of the nearby lakes. A bit north of Örkelljunga is Kungsbygget's adventure park. At Hallandsåsen you can visit Vallåsen's ski resort in winter. A short drive away you have Ängelholm's beautiful city with nice shops, the beautiful local park and its long beach. Visit the Bjäre and Kulla peninsulas. Here you will find lots of nice excursion destinations and strawberry places.

For those interested in golf, there is Örkelljunga's golf club with a lunch restaurant. Örkelljunga also has one of the country's best mini golf courses. A few miles north, at Markaryd, is the elk park, a fantastic excursion destination for the whole family.
